The Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory (TRB NT), an independent statutory body under the Teacher Registration (Northern Territory) Act 2004, registers teachers and maintains professional standards. Teachers must be registered to work in NT schools. New applicants need a current (within 3 months) National Police Check via SAFE NT for employment as a teacher. Interstate registration is recognised under mutual recognition.
