How to apply

1. Check eligibility: confirm you hold an approved teaching qualification, meet suitability requirements (criminal history, English proficiency), and have the required teaching experience (or qualify for provisional registration).
2. Create a myQCT account at www.qct.edu.au — your username will be emailed to you once the account is set up.
3. Log in to myQCT and complete the online Application for Teacher Registration form.
4. Pay the required application fee (recent QLD graduates: from $173.16; all other applicants: from $298.65; fees indexed annually from 1 October).
5. A document checklist is emailed to you after submission — gather certified copies of all required supporting documents (qualifications, identity, criminal history).
6. Print, sign, and date the confirmation page sent as an email attachment; mutual recognition applicants also complete and sign a Statutory Declaration before an authorised person.
7. Post all signed documents and certified copies to QCT.
8. Track your application via the Application Progress Tracker in your myQCT account; once approved, your name appears on the public Register of Teachers.
9. Pay the annual maintenance fee ($104.12) each year; full registration must be renewed every five years.
