How to apply

1. Determine which registration category applies to you (Full, Provisional, Non-Practising, or Limited) by reviewing the TRBWA Registration Categories page.
2. Confirm you meet all eligibility requirements: appropriate teaching qualification, English language proficiency, fit and proper person standard, and compliance with Professional Standards.
3. Create a Teacher Login account on the TRBWA portal at login.trb.wa.gov.au (as of May 2026, multi-factor authentication is required).
4. Log in and complete the online Application for Teacher Registration, selecting the correct category.
5. Upload supporting documents: identity and name-change evidence, academic qualifications, teaching experience records, English language results (if applicable), Working with Children Check information, criminal history declaration, and fit and proper person questionnaire.
6. Pay the application fee through the portal (overseas-qualified applicants applying for Provisional Registration pay approximately $473; check the TRBWA Schedule of Fees for all categories).
7. Submit the application and await assessment — processing typically takes up to ten weeks depending on documentation completeness and criminal history outcomes.
8. Once approved, your name is added to the public Register of Teachers at trb.wa.gov.au/Register-of-Teachers.
