How to apply
- Confirm eligibility: you must be 15 or older, have left school, and need help with language, literacy, numeracy, or digital literacy — SEE is open to job seekers, employed people, volunteers, and those re-entering the workforce.
- Choose your access pathway: (a) direct enrolment — contact a SEE provider such as Navitas Skilled Futures, TAFE NSW, TAFE SA, or another of the 22 national providers directly without needing a referral; or (b) referral pathway — ask your Employment Services consultant (Workforce Australia, Disability Employment Services, ParentsNext, Community Development Program, or Transition to Work) to refer you.
- Contact your chosen SEE provider or search for providers at dewr.gov.au/skills-education-and-employment/see-providers.
- Undergo an initial assessment with the provider to determine your current literacy, numeracy, and language levels.
- Complete the provider's enrolment paperwork — no single national form number; each provider manages their own enrolment process.
- Meet with the provider's SEE Participant Support Officer (SPSO) within the first 25 hours of training to develop your individual learning plan.
- Attend training — delivered face-to-face, online, or via distance learning; options exist across metropolitan, regional, and remote areas.
- Upon completion, receive support transitioning to further education, vocational training, or employment.
