WA Laser Operator Registration (Radiation Safety Act 1975)
Form number: Class 4 Laser Registration
Western Australia regulates Class 4 cosmetic lasers under the Radiation Safety Act 1975 administered by the Radiological Council of WA. Class 4 cosmetic lasers (used for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, vascular lesions) require device registration and operator competency demonstration; IPL is currently NOT captured in the WA radiation regulatory regime (IPL devices are not classified as lasers). VIC, NSW, SA, TAS, ACT, NT do not have specific cosmetic-laser operator licensing — operator competency is governed by general WHS and consumer protection.
