How to apply

1. Gather your vehicle details: registration number or billing number, vehicle make/model/year/fuel type, garaging address (where vehicle is kept overnight in NSW), and main driver details (age, licence status, any demerit points or driving offences).
2. Visit the Green Slip Price Check tool at greenslips.nsw.gov.au or via Service NSW to compare real-time quotes from all six licensed CTP insurers in NSW — all greenslips provide identical cover so price is the key differentiator.
3. Select your preferred insurer and click through to their website; your vehicle details will often be pre-filled — review the summary screen carefully.
4. Confirm the policy start date matches your registration renewal or start date, then complete payment online directly with the insurer.
5. Receive your greenslip certificate by email — this is your official proof of CTP cover; the insurer notifies Service NSW electronically once payment is processed.
6. Present or reference your greenslip certificate when completing vehicle registration or renewal at a Service NSW Centre or online.
