South Australia regulates skin penetration premises under the South Australian Public Health Act 2011 and the SA Health "Standard for the Hygienic Practice of Skin Penetration Procedures". Premises offering tattooing, cosmetic tattoo, body piercing, ear piercing, electrolysis, microneedling and similar must notify the relevant local council prior to commencing operation.
