QLD Personal Appearance Services Notification (Infection Control Act 2003)
QLD
Queensland regulates personal appearance services (hairdressing, beauty therapy, tattoo, body piercing, cosmetic procedures, electrolysis) under the Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Act 2003 and supporting Code of Practice. Higher-risk procedures (anything classed as skin penetration in the Act) require notification to the local council. Lower-risk (hairdressing, basic beauty without skin penetration) are not separately notifiable but must comply with the Code.
