How to apply

1. Confirm you are a 'labour hire provider' under the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017 Qld (i.e. you supply workers to a host in exchange for a fee)
2. Check eligibility: all applicants, nominated officers, and executive officers must be fit and proper persons, and the business must be financially viable
3. Download and complete the Fit and Proper Person Declaration form (PDF) from labourhire.qld.gov.au/resources/forms-and-application-guide
4. If applicable, complete the Authorisation of Administrative User form so a delegate can manage the application on your behalf
5. Register an account in the Labour Hire Licensing Queensland portal at https://ols.oir.qld.gov.au/register-account/ — a separate account and email address is required for each licence application
6. Complete the online application including business details, industries operated in, nominated officer details, and compliance history
7. Pay the application fee based on total wages paid in the preceding financial year: up to $1.5M wages = $1,158.47; $1.5M–$5M = $3,475.42; over $5M = $5,792.36 (2025-26 rates)
8. Submit the application and await assessment — allow approximately 28 days for approval
9. Once licensed, renew annually and ensure host employers can verify your licence status on the public register at ols.oir.qld.gov.au/licence-register/
