Engineers Australia

Cost

From AUD $346.50 (Australian Accredited Qualification, incl. GST) to AUD $1,815 (CDR pathway with both employment and PhD assessments, incl. GST); fees increased ~3–4% from 1 July 2026

How to apply

  1. Check that your occupation falls within one of Engineers Australia's four engineering occupational categories (Professional Engineer, Engineering Technologist, Engineering Associate, Engineering Manager) and confirm Engineers Australia is the correct assessing body via the Home Affairs list
  2. Download and review the 'Prepare Your Migration Skills Assessment Application' guide from engineersaustralia.org.au to understand document requirements
  3. Determine your assessment pathway: Australian Accredited Qualification, International Accord (Washington/Dublin/Sydney Accord), or Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) for non-accredited qualifications
  4. If applying under the CDR pathway, prepare three Career Episodes, a Summary Statement, and a Continuing Professional Development list as specified in the MSA Booklet
  5. Create an account on the Engineers Australia online portal (myportal.engineersaustralia.org.au) and select 'Migration Skills Assessment' from the menu
  6. Upload all required documents: academic transcripts, degree certificates, English translations, employment evidence, and any CDR documents
  7. Pay the application fee (from 1 July 2026: AUD $346.50 incl. GST for Australian Accredited Qualification pathway only; AUD $555.50 incl. GST for Accord pathway; AUD $1,034 incl. GST for CDR pathway — additional employment/PhD assessment fees apply separately)
  8. Monitor your application in the portal; standard processing is approximately 15 weeks to assessor assignment
  9. Receive the MSA outcome letter; use it when lodging your SkillSelect EOI — note the outcome letter does not expire with Engineers Australia, but visa lodgement timeframes are set by the Department of Home Affairs
