CLOSED TO NEW CLAIMS: the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986 closed to new Disability Compensation Payment claims on 1 July 2026 — all new claims for rehabilitation and compensation are now assessed under the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 (MRCA), irrespective of service or time of injury. Existing recipients keep being paid. Form D2582 applies only to claims lodged before 1 July 2026.
