Body Piercing Operator Licence / Council Notification
Body piercing — including ear piercing other than by gun, navel, nose, eyebrow, septum, lip, tongue, nipple and intimate piercings — is regulated under each state's skin-penetration framework via local council notification. NSW and QLD additionally capture body piercing performed in tattoo studios under their Tattoo Parlours Act licensing regimes (operator + worker licences). Most jurisdictions also restrict intimate / genital piercings of minors regardless of parental consent.
