Trade Waste Discharge Permit — issued by the water authority to a commercial premises that discharges anything other than domestic-strength sewage to the sewer (e.g. cafes, restaurants, mechanical workshops, dental surgeries, food processors). The plumber is responsible for installing the prescribed pre-treatment (grease arrestor, oil/water separator, neutralising tank, amalgam separator) and providing the commissioning data for the permit.
