Queensland combines structural / urban pesticide use under a Pest Management Technician Licence (Queensland Health under the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019 and the Medicines and Poisons (Pest Management Activities) Regulation 2021) and agricultural / rural pesticide use under Biosecurity Queensland (Chemical Usage (Agricultural and Veterinary) Control Act 1988) — note the MPA also applies to pest management activities carried out by pest management technicians in primary production. Many commercial spray operators need both pathways — and a separate aerial application contractor licence for fixed-wing / helicopter / drone work.
