CEC Designer accreditation (separate from Installer) authorises a person to design grid-connect solar PV systems — sizing, string design, inverter selection, AS/NZS 5033 / 4777 / 4509 compliance — without doing the physical install. Any individual who wishes to design Grid Connected PV systems must be accredited under the SAA Scheme to be eligible for small-scale technology certificates (STCs) — there is no 30 kW threshold.
