CEC Designer accreditation (separate from Installer) authorises a person to design grid-connect solar PV systems — sizing, string design, inverter selection, AS/NZS 5033 / 4777 / 4509 compliance — without doing the physical install. Required for any system over 30 kW where the electrician installer is not also accredited as a designer.
