How to apply

1. Identify the specific error in the previously lodged document and confirm it is a correction (not a new change) — Form 492 is only for fixing mistakes in already-processed documents.
2. Obtain Form 492: download the PDF from https://download.asic.gov.au/media/5067359/20191504-form-492.pdf, or access it via the ASIC company officeholder portal if the original form was lodged electronically.
3. Complete the form: enter your company ACN, the form number and date of the original lodgement being corrected, a description of the error, and the correct information.
4. If the original form was lodged electronically via the ASIC portal, lodge the correction online through the same portal at https://www.edge.asic.gov.au/004/compportal/get/ServicesLogin.
5. If the original form was lodged by post or email, submit Form 492 by post to: Australian Securities and Investments Commission, PO Box 4000, Gippsland Mail Centre VIC 3841.
6. No lodgement fee applies in most cases; however, if the correction reveals a fee that should have been paid on the original form, that fee will be charged.
7. Allow up to 28 days for ASIC to process the correction — the change may not appear on the Company Profile immediately.
8. Check the ASIC company register after processing to confirm the corrected information appears accurately.
