Residential Aged Care Calculation of Your Cost of Care (SA457)

Before entering permanent residential care, give Services Australia your financial details so they can work out what you'll pay towards your aged care home and whether the government helps with your accommodation cost. Use SA457 'Residential aged care calculation of your cost of care' — unless you get a relevant income support payment, in which case Services Australia already has your income details and you only need to supply your home details on SA485. The assessment isn't mandatory, but without it you can be asked to pay the maximum contribution rate.
