How to apply

  1. Confirm the work meets the threshold: VIC — any plumbing, drainage, gasfitting or mechanical services work over $750 (gas, below-ground drainage, fire protection, and mechanical services require a certificate regardless of cost); NSW — any notifiable plumbing or drainage work; QLD — any notifiable work above the relevant threshold.
  2. VIC: Log into VBA360 (vba360.vba.vic.gov.au), purchase a compliance certificate for the relevant work type (plumbing, drainage, gasfitting, or mechanical services), and attach the site address.
  3. NSW: On completion of the licensed plumbing work, complete the Certificate of Compliance section of the Combined Notice of Work & Certificate of Compliance form, then lodge via the BCNSW portal (formerly MyInspections).
  4. QLD: Register the completed notifiable work via the myQBCC Form 4/4a portal (see Notice of Work record) — the registration acts as the compliance record.
  5. Give the property owner or occupier a copy of the certificate within 5 business days (VIC/NSW) or 20 business days (QLD) of completing the work.
  6. Lodge the certificate with the regulator within the same 5-business-day window (VIC and NSW).
