AHPRA Specialist Registration — Medical Practitioner (final step after Fellowship)

Form number: AMSL-30

Once your specialist college grants Fellowship (FRACGP, FRACP, FRACS, FRANZCOG, FRANZCO, FRANZCP, FRANZCR, FANZCA, FACEM, FRCPA, FAFPHM etc), you must apply to the Medical Board of Australia (via AHPRA) to convert your general registration into specialist registration. Fellowship is not a pre-requisite for specialist registration — you can also apply if an AMC-accredited specialist medical college has assessed you as being eligible for fellowship, or if you are a specialist international medical graduate whose specialist qualification is on the Expedited Specialist pathway accepted qualifications list. Specialist registration is what triggers Medicare specialist rebates.
