Dental Prosthetist is the lab-based auxiliary division — prosthetists fit and supply removable dentures (full and partial) and mouthguards directly to the public without a dentist referral, but cannot perform any irreversible procedures on natural teeth. Distinct from a specialist Prosthodontist (who is a registered dentist with advanced training in fixed and complex prosthodontics).
