AHPRA / Medical Board Specialist Pathway for International Medical Graduates
IMGs who already hold a recognised specialist qualification overseas (e.g. consultant cardiologist, surgeon, GP) can apply through the Specialist Pathway instead of the AMC Standard Pathway. The relevant specialist college (RACP, RACS, RACGP, RANZCOG etc) assesses comparability — substantially comparable, partially comparable or not comparable to the Australian fellowship.
