Aged Care Needs Assessment — Your Assessment Visit (Single Assessment System)
An aged care needs assessment, carried out by an assessment organisation, is the step that opens the door to the Support at Home program, residential aged care, transition care, residential respite, the Restorative Care Pathway or the End-of-Life Pathway. Since 9 December 2024 a single assessment workforce handles all assessments — there is no longer a separate ACAT (or ACAS in Victoria) or RAS.
