Aged Care Hardship Assistance Application

If paying aged care fees would leave you without enough for personal essentials, you can apply for financial hardship assistance with your basic daily fee, care contributions or accommodation costs. To be eligible: your assets must be below the threshold ($46,835.10 as at 20 March 2026, indexed each March and September), you need a current calculation of your cost of care, and you must not have made gifts over the limits. For Support at Home (not residential or respite), you also need a care assessment approval before applying.
