Working Holiday Maker (Subclass 417) and Work and Holiday (Subclass 462) visa holders can extend for a second year (and both 417 and 462 holders may also be eligible for a third year) if they complete the required specified work in regional Australia — a minimum of 88 calendar days (3 months) for a second visa, or 179 calendar days (6 months) for a third visa. Plant and animal cultivation — horticulture and agriculture — is the most common qualifying activity. Employers need to give workers a Form 1263 confirming the work.
