Spray Tan Operator — Council Notification + ACCC DHA Compliance
Spray tanning (DHA-based sunless tanning applied as an aerosol) does not require an Australian operator licence. ACCC requires DHA-containing cosmetic products to comply with the Cosmetics Information Standard 2020 (full INCI ingredient labelling, batch, expiry); local councils require general personal-care premises notification; and state WHS regulators expect ventilation / respiratory controls because DHA inhalation has not been fully evaluated. Most insurers expect completion of a recognised spray-tan training course.
