NSW prescribers and pharmacists who supply Schedule 8 medicines (eg. methadone, buprenorphine, dexamphetamine, fentanyl) for more than 2 months for the same patient must hold an Authority under section 28 of the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966. Pharmacy storage of S8 stock requires a licence under the same Act.
