From August 2023, NSW restricted the retail sale of nitrous oxide (cream chargers / "nangs") under the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Regulation. Sale to under-18s prohibited; sale outside business hours (10 pm-5 am) prohibited; food-service outlets cannot supply standalone N2O. Penalties up to $1,100 individual / $5,500 corporation.
