Operators of large industrial boilers and pressure vessels (steam generators, autoclaves, gas compression skids) need a High Risk Work Licence. BS = Standard boiler operation (boiler with a single fuel source without pre-heater, superheater or economiser), BA = Advanced boiler operation (may have multiple fuel sources, pre-heater, superheater or economiser); Steam turbine operation is a separate licence class. Compressed-gas filling skids and large CO2 / N2 reciprocating compressors fall under pressure-equipment competency.
