How to apply
- Confirm you meet the minimum age of 18 and that a Class PB licence is required for your role (operating a vehicle-mounted or satellite-mounted concrete placing boom on a construction site)
- Enrol with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to complete the required unit of competency: CPCCLBM3001 Licence to Operate a Concrete Placing Boom (or its superseded equivalent CPCCLBM3001A)
- Complete training and workplace-based assessment under realistic conditions with a SafeWork-accredited assessor from the RTO
- On receiving your Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA) by email, apply for your HRWL within 60 days — do not delay as the NSA expires
- In NSW: click the link in your NSA email, log into MyServiceNSW, complete the online HRW licence application form and pay the fee ($92 per class for a 5-year licence, 2025-26 schedule); in Victoria: apply online through myWorkSafe and pay $75.65 per class
- Provide two identity documents (at least one with photo) as required by your state regulator; if applying in NSW you may need to visit a Service NSW centre for a photo
- Receive your licence (physical card and/or digital licence) valid for 5 years from the issue date
- Renew before expiry (NSW: $84 per class; VIC: $57.20) — if your licence lapses you may need to retrain
