Installing heat pump hot water systems (HPHW) and claiming Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs) under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) requires the installer to be employed by an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP) and to hold ARCtick + state plumbing / electrical licences. Replacing an electric storage HW system with a heat pump is the most common ESS Method 4 activity.
