Binding Financial Agreement (BFA / Section 90C / 90D)
A Binding Financial Agreement is a private contract made under the Family Law Act ss 90C/90D (married) or 90UC/90UD (de facto). Settles property and/or spousal maintenance without going near a court. Useful if you want privacy or speed — but the formal requirements are strict and a defective BFA can be set aside.
