Australian Citizenship by Descent (Form 118)

If your child was born overseas to at least one Australian citizen parent, your child can become an Australian citizen by descent — they do not get it automatically. Apply with Form 118 through Home Affairs immediately so the child can hold an Australian passport, Medicare and other entitlements.
