ACMA Marine Radio Operator Certificate (AWQ / SROCP / LROCP / MSCE / GMDSS)
All operators of marine radios (except 27 MHz) need to be qualified. Five levels (ascending): Australian Waters Qualification (AWQ — VHF only, within 12 nautical miles of the coast), Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP — VHF), Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP — HF and VHF), Marine Satellite Communications Endorsement (MSCE — combined with a SROCP or LROCP for GMDSS satellite equipment), and the GMDSS radio operator's certificate.
